our story

Konjiki Hototogisu, established on January 11th, 2006, started in a small Shibuya alley with just 8 seats by Chef Yamamoto. Despite early struggles, Chef Yamamoto’s dedication to perfecting the taste led to gradual success. After years of relentless experimentation and improvement, the restaurant gained recognition, winning first place in Japanese ramen critiques five times. Their achievements include Bib Gourmand status from Michelin in 2015-2018 and a Michelin star from 2019-2023. Chef Yamamoto continues to innovate, aiming to be the world’s top ramen destination, always striving for a taste that’s uniquely theirs.

My top comfort food is Japanese cuisine. But to be absolutely honest, I crave and prefer high quality Japanese food to make the experience worthwhile and the food from @konjiki.uae not only met my expectations but actually exceeded them. From the best beef carpaccio I’ve had so far to their chicken skewers bursting with umami, every bite was incredible. The mochi is something I will always remember because it literally transported me back to Japan, that kind of good. The service was also outstanding and fast. Definitely recommended, and I’ll be coming back. Gonna try the ramen next time!!

This place lured me in as I walked by on the way to another restaurant for dinner. The inviting smell of the food, the appearance of the place, and finally having the opportunity to witness a cook at work making fresh noodles. Cleanliness plays a great part in me ticking off a 5 star, and this was in place here. The waiter was very polite, observant, and switched on to service. The food was to my liking, and I plan on soon visiting here again.

Our go-to for a casual spot for food. Always a great experience at Konjiki, great value too. We love the broths here for the ramen & always like to mix up the starters. Tonight we had Arthur as our server, all the staff are super warm, friendly & helpful.
